Yes, the full size spare will need to be lowered to provide access to the hitch attachment points, but will fit back into its original location after installation of the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 13336.
You will need to Lower the spare tire from its storage location. It will be put back in place after hitch is installed. I have included a link to the instructions for this hitch for you to review. We also have a installation video showing the installation of this hitch for you... view full answer...
We do have the Curt multi fit hitch part # C13704 that has a 5,000 lb towing capacity and can fit RV frames that are between 22 and 66 inches apart. You'd have to make sure your frame dimensions are compatible and that your trailer when loaded would be less than 5,000 lbs. view full answer...
On a 2009 Pontiac Montana Van the problem is that the installation of a brake controller can shut down the brake light system in the van. The red brake wire that is on the back of the brake controller is normally connected to the cold side of the brake light switch to activate the trailer brakes when the brake pedal is applied. If that red wire from the brake controller is connected to the cold side of the brake light switch on the Montana Van it will shut down the whole brake light system.

The Roadmaster High-Low adapter # RM-076 is designed for use with tow bars only, when flat towing a vehicle behind a motor home. They are not meant for use for any other application.
Some adapters and extenders can reduce the tongue weight capacity of a trailer hitch. Others do not. It depends on the adapter and the trailer hitch Class.
What I recommend is the Curt multipurpose ball mount # D210. This will provide extra height and it will not reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer... view full answer...
I believe I have what you need. Since you said you have a shaft size of 1-1/4 I am assuming you are referring to the spindle. The Brake Mounting Flange # 4-34 is designed to work on spindles that are 1-1/4 inches in diameter and should work for you.
The description says that this flange works on 1-3/4 inch axles with 1-1/4 inch spindles.
With this brake mounting flange you will need to use a 7 inch brake assembly. For a left hand brake assembly you could get a Dexter Brake Assembly #... view full answer...
For the lowest cost roof rack option that will fit both your 2005 Pontiac Montana and 2010 Subaru Forester, both with side rails, I recommend using Inno feet # INFR with 50 inch bars # INB127. This system will be fast and easy to install or remove and it is compatible with the Yakima HullRaiser kayak carrier Y04039. I know it isn't one of the ones you mentioned but based on limiting cost it is the best option.
But using these carriers will limit you to 2 kayaks at most because there just... view full answer...
To figure out if your 2009 Pontiac Montana SV6 has the short or long wheel base would be to measure from the center of the rear wheel to the center of the front wheel, or you can call your local GM dealer with your VIN and they should be able to look it up for you.
If you get a measurement of 113" then you have the short wheel base, and if you get a measurement of 121" then you have the long wheel base.
With that said the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75278 you were looking at fits both the... view full answer...
The Curt trailer wiring harness you referenced, # 56077, is indeed a correct fit for the 2008 Pontiac Montana SV6 made for the Canadian market. This plug-in harness provides a flat 4-pole trailer connector. You might consider a mounting bracket # 18144. view full answer...
It sounds like you might have tapped into the wrong wire beneath the brake pedal in your Pontiac Montana SV6. The red wire from the brake controller needs to be spliced into the cold side of the brake light switch on the vehicle, which is a wire that only receives power when the brake pedal is depressed, and none when any other function is activated. The wire you currently have the red wire connected to may be a shared turn signal/brake circuit, which is why the brakes are pulsating with... view full answer...
In regards to the Starter Solenoid part # PK5230701, the larger terminals are for power in and out. The smaller terminals are for ignition/remote and ground. It does not matter which side goes where. The solenoid is designed to be mounted vertically, with the cap facing downward. It should be mounted in an enclosed area, but not in the engine compartment. view full answer...
Yes, the Thule Evo raised rail feet, # TH710401, work well on your 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6, with factory raised rails that run front to back. Along with the raised rail foot pack you will need a set of 47 inch SquareBars, # TH712200.
Since you will be taking long trips and need space for cargo, I would recommend going with a roof box rather than a bag. A roof box will protect your gear better and will not sit on the roof, possibly causing damage to the vehicle finish.
For a cargo bag... view full answer...
For your 2008 Pontiac Montana SV6 with raised side rails you would want the Thule Roof Rack part # MPG216 as it has been confirmed as a fit. view full answer...
The roof racks made for the 2008 Pontiac Montana SV6 were designed with raised rails in mind since most of the cars of this model came with raised rails. Since the Pontiac Montana was discontinued and had limited production from 2007-2009 its possible you have a different from usual version.
If you can confirm that there are no rails up there or even holes or possible fixed mounting points, I have two more creative solutions.
The first, is the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack # 298-SX6000B.... view full answer...
To add a 7-Way trailer connector to your 2009 Pontiac Montana with a 4-Way you will need # 37185. Your 4-Way will plug into this adapter's mating 4-Way. You will need to ground the white wire to the van frame. This adapter has both a 4- and 7-Way connector so you will retain the use of the 4-Way.
The remaining wires on the adapter are blue for electric brakes, purple for reverse lights, and black for 12 volt power. You already mentioned not using the trailer brakes so the blue wire can... view full answer...
